Incorporate velvet into your home

Trend Focus: Velvet Interiors

Nothing says luxury like velvet, and here at Redbrick we have many different ways to help incorporate this trend into your home.

Velvet is the go-to fabric of choice for statement pieces such as beds, sofas and accent chairs - and it can also be introduced through smaller pieces of soft furnishings to help create a lavish look for your home.

Sofas & Stuff, located on our ground floor, offer a range of velvets available on their models. Take their Brighton Sofa in Portland Velvet Pitaya - this classic design is a contemporary take on a Chesterfield, and upholstered in a stunning purple velvet is the perfect way to bring the colour of 2018 into your home. The great thing about velvet is the richness of colour that can be achieved, due to the nature of the fabric the light will react differently depending on the silhouette it surrounds - creating a decadent and dramatic effect that is unique to each product.

Saba Italia's New York Suite, available from Devoted To, looks great upholstered in a rich mustard velvet - the deep, quilted cushions cushions are a  perfect nod to mid century modern design, with the mustard velvet offering an elegant update.

Our design advisors at MADE.COM recommend combining your velvet accent pieces with other materials such as metallic accessories to add depth to a room to create a cosy, layered look. Their Skye Storage Bed in Blush Pink Velvet looks perfect with the Alana Bedside Table in Brushed Brass for the ultimate luxe bedroom set up.

For smaller hints of velvet try One Nine eight Five's abstract print cushions, available at Heal's, to add vibrant pops of colour and a contemporary edge to your space. These look great paired with Bo Concept's simple Velvet cushions which are available in a range of beautiful colours - an instant way to add opulence to your space.
