At Redbrick we believe that it is vital for local companies to support local charities. This year, for the third year running, we decided to support The Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and help them to raise the essential funds they need.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a life saving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across Yorkshire. To enable them to keep providing this life saving service, that charity needs to raise £12,000 per day to keep both of Yorkshire’s Air Ambulances maintained and in the air.
Firstly, throughout the weekend, we donated a percentage of all sales made directly to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Additionally, The ‘Redbrick Riders’ teamed up to cycle the distance from Redbrick to London and back (on static bikes!). The total distance was 380 miles. This was completed, and together with a percentage of turnover, cake sales and generous donations from our customers, we raised an impressive £8,500 - all of which will be donated directly to The Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The weekend was an overall success, both the general atmosphere and great team spirit all being a vital contribution to the funds raised. Thank you to all that contributed to this successful weekend, both customers and staff for helping us raise funds for this very worthy cause.
